What are you doing on the first day of summer and the longest day of the year?

Only a couple days remain until the official start of summer and the ‘Longest Day of PLAY’ in Grey Bruce. Kick off your summer in style by doing your part – it’s easy just get up and get moving.

On June 21st, the ‘Longest Day of Play’, PLAY in Bruce Grey is encouraging everyone to head outside and get active. Bring a ball, bring your kids and invite all your friends. Might as well bring the dog too! Fill the playgrounds, parks and school fields with those who are out for the sheer love of play.

For adults, the target is to accumulate 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each week. Children and youth should be active for at least one hour every day. For ideas on ways to get active, check out our many different Ways to Play section on our website or visit Grey Bruce Public Health Active Living Section

We would like to thank Bruce Power and all of our Municipalities for their financial support of our locally recognized events. Follow and like your local recreation and community event pages to find out what’s happening in your community for the ‘Longest Day of Play’.

On June 21, get outside and play! It’s the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. Take advantage of the extra daylight and get active.

Tell us what you are going to do to celebrate the ‘Longest Day of Play‘  in our comments or on our social media pages.
