Quality time with your families is a great way to build strong and trusting relationships. It allows for time to teach children life skills, share stories, learn about how we interact with others and most importantly, creates memories that can last a lifetime.
Family day is Monday, February 17, and it is a great time to create new memories with the family. Communities in Bruce Grey have many activities taking place all weekend that will bring the family together to learn and have fun!
There are PLAY sponsored family skates that weekend in Meaford, Tiverton and Port Elgin.

South Bruce Peninsula Family Day 2020
Looking for ways to have FUN with the whole family on Family Day? Look no further as the Town of South Bruce Peninsula has spectacular activities planned all day long on Monday, February 17th, 2020 for Free!
Join a Horse drawn sleigh around Bluewater Park from 10am-12 noon courtesy of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. Loading and unloading at the parking lot by the boat launch.
Want to enjoy the outdoors? Strap on your skis or snowshoes and take a tour around the Sauble Cross Country Ski Trails open for free all day. Then get warmed up in the clubhouse from 11 am-1 pm with a hot dog, roasted marshmallow, apple cider and hot chocolate. The Clubhouse is located at 931 Sauble Parkway, north of the Sauble Falls Bridge.
The Bruce Peninsula Sportsmen’s Association are holding a BBQ and Archery Instruction from 11-2 pm. Drop in for a tour of the fish hatchery, try your archery skills and finish off with a BBQ in the club house, located off County Road 13 between Wiarton and Oliphant.
Billiards anyone? Try a game of Pool at Lloyd’s Smoke Shop, Wiarton 10 am-4 pm.
Looking for a little exercise? Strap on your skates for a free skate at the Wiarton Arena from 12-2 pm courtesy of RBC.
New this year! Curling at the Wiarton Curling Club 10am-2pm and the Allenford Curling Club 12-4pm. Bring indoor shoes and ages 12 and under must wear a helmet.
New this year! Kids Carnival 12-3pm upstairs at the Wiarton Arena. There will be face painting, games, photo booth, clown, jewelry and more.
Then for the grand finale … 4:30-6:30 pm at the Wiarton Propeller Club, enjoy a delicious Spaghetti Dinner cooked by Chef Andy and served by special guests. Dessert is courtesy of Wiarton Foodland and Fretz’s ValuMart.
Once you’re finished eating, have fun singing Karaoke with Lenny at the Wiarton Propeller Club from 4:30-6:30 pm. Lenny will provide the music and the words and all you need is your voice!
There are countless ways to enjoy the great outdoors by hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, tobogganing or building a snowman! Want to stay indoors? Play a board game, colour/draw pictures, make a puzzle or build a fort with pillows. Ask your kids what they would like to do and have fun doing it with them. Most important, do it as a family!
Family Day is a great opportunity for families to spend time together playing, laughing and having fun together. We encourage you and your family to play together for Family Day 2020!
