Play Your Way, Every Day!

Fall Fun

Fall Fun

Are you looking for something to do this fall? Shut the T.V. off, unplug the computer (after you print this off), put down your phone and get active with your family this fall.

Apple Picking:

Put on your favourite rubber boots, grab that cozy sweater and get ready for some fun. Get your family and friends together to pick apples at local orchards (some are listed below). This is a great way to get your steps in and teach your kids about the benefits of agriculture. After you are done picking the apples, show off all your hard work by making apple pies, apple crisp and apple sauce! This is a great way to save money as you can freeze your baking and use it at Christmas.

Go For a Hike:

We live in an area surrounded by trails. Call your friends, get your running shoes on and enjoy a crisp fall day hiking. Don’t forget to take pictures of all the leaves.

Hiking Benefits:
• Nice views
• Fresh air
• Sounds and smells of nature
• Boost bone density, since walking is a weight-bearing exercise
• Build strength in your glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and the muscles in your hips and lower legs
• Strengthen your core
• Improve balance
• Help control your weight
